The three Bali bombers on death row have been executed by firing squad.

Imam Samudra and brothers Amrozi and Mukhlas were shot to death by separate firing squads at 12.15am Indonesian time, an Indonesian government spokesman has confirmed.

The executions come six years after the Kuta nightclub explosions that killed 202 people, including 88 Australians.

Family members of the bombers were informed of the execution by Ali Fauzi, the brother of Mukhlas and Amrozi.

Ali Fauzi headed to the prison island of Nusakambangan by boat about 5.30am Sydney time to oversee the religious rights on the bodies.

He sent a text message to relatives in Arabic saying “they are with the Almighty”.

Fanatics fury over executions

FAMILY and supporters of the Bali bombers are using the time before their executions to peddle anti-Australian conspiracy theories and praise the condemned men as holy warriors as they complained bitterly yesterday about being locked out of the prison where Amrozi, Mukhlas and Imam Samudra are being held.

Islamist websites in Indonesia were promoting the same conspiracy theory, saying Australia had donated 3 billion rupiah (about $420,000) to pay for the execution.

The trio – Amrozi, Mukhlas and Iman Samudr – will face a firing squad, possibly as soon this weekend, after Indonesia’s Attorney-General’s office announced last week they would executed in early November, the Herald Sun reported.

A security crackdown on Nusa Kambangan Island, off the coast of central Java, where the execution will take place suggests their deaths are near.

As the Bali bombers approach the end of their lives their angry rhetoric has increased with a letter from all three urging their Muslim brotherhood to “claim war and kill” everyone involved in their executions, including the Indonesian President.

It says that if Allah destines them to die from the bullets of police then it will be a savage action.

“To all Islamic people, especially Mujahidin wherever they are, it is your obligation to claim war and kill the persons involved in the execution, like Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, (the President) Jusuf Kalla,(vice-president) Andi Mattalatta (Justice Minister), Hendarman Supandji (AG), AH Ritonga (special crimes prosecutor), all the Judges and prosecutors, Hindus, Kaffir and hypocrite Christians and all the execution team, American’s slaves etc,” the letter says.

They further call for all supporters of their execution to also be killed.
